About Fiona         

 Fiona qualified as a social worker in the UK in 1996.  She then worked for the local authority in Scotland supporting children, their families and older people, with many issues such as: parenting difficulties, mental health, disability challenges, drug/alcohol issues and child protection.  She then went on to specialise as an Intensive Support Worker, supporting children and their families at risk in the community.  This involved finding creative ways to build on families’ strengths and resources to promote resilience. 


Fiona qualified as a Human Givens Therapist in 2002 in the UK and arrived in Australia in June 2004, becoming the first qualified Human Givens practitioner in Australia.  Since then she has been running her own successful counselling practice in Redcliffe.   Providing effective brief therapy for individuals, couples, children and families as well as running workshops and training for local community organisations.  Fiona completed her Bachelor in Social Work Degree in 2010. 


Fiona works with individuals, couples, children and their families and is competent in dealing successfully with a variety of complex issues.  Although Fiona specialises in working with post traumatic stress, panic attacks, anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder and depression, she also has considerable experience working with anger management, relationship issues, addiction, weight control and parenting issues.
